A failure to diagnose rectal cancer occurred to a Massachusetts man who filed a claim against his primary care physician and surgeon. By the time the cancer was discovered, it had spread from the rectum to both lobes of his liver.
The defense denied liability. This case settled in 2018 for $4.8 million.
